The Faces of Ahura Mazda

Ahura Mazda, The Wise Lord, Elder God of Creation... he's lived aeons alone. And is one of the, if not the most powerful of Elder Gods. He formed his own universe, his own worlds, his own peoples... and still, he is alone. Perhaps he always will be, despite his children, the Immortals, slivers of himself, aspects to help him in his function. But Ahura understands what being alone means, and though it can hurt, can tear, can rend the heart, it's a kind of strength. Oh, he can love, and he does... he cares, he nurtures, he heals and helps. But his heart... that remains his own.

This page is dedicated to the faces of Ahura Mazda, that beautiful, golden god of Life, Light, Goodness, and Health. His smile creates comfort, his touch is warmth and hope, his eyes shine like suns and his hair like liquid obsidian. He is, simply, gorgeous. To see him frown is to feel pain in one's heart... he is all good things, unable to deceive or be deceived. Delicate, lovely, powerful, perfect... this is Ahura Mazda.

Ahura Mazda is a character who hails from my RolePlaying days, originally on WBS, then others. The pics used for him come from RG Veda, an anime and manga produced by the fantastically talented ladies of Clamp. The character used for Mazda is King Ashura... and a very pretty king he is! Last in the line of War Gods, he's eventually killed and eaten (yes, eaten) by a friend, to help restore Ashura-oh's child (I am not getting into the great Gender Debate about Ashura-oh's child! male, female... maybe an it...heh...), Ashura, who is doomed to become Black Ashura in the Prophecies, an evil being.
